NAPPILY MARRIED (EPISODE 1)

Victor was so excited. He still couldn't believe today that everything was really going to be  perfect. He was marrying the love of his life and he just couldn't wait. Time seemed to crawl by lamely. The most annoying thing right now however, was that his tie had refused to cave in and Lola wasn't here to bail him out. He sighed wistfully, remembering how he met her. How else could he thank fate for delivering such Jewel onto his lap? He stared at the mirror, still absently fumbling with his tie, but mostly looking forward to talking to his bride just to know how she was doing. Hope she was good? He could just imagine how beautiful she'd look on her wedding gown, walking towards him like an Angel. He smiled, of course she was his Angel and...  "Guy what's up now? You're meant to be the one waiting for Lola..." He frowned as Richard walked in, yelling at him as usual. He just wasn't feeling witty enough to  concort a usual biting response. "If you don't hasten up and stop admiring yourself in the mirror like some vain bitch, she'd end up waiting for you and you know what that means." "God forbid! Riccardo, you know if it's  before I for don..." "Oga dey do fast fast joor." "Leave me jare, I want to look very hot for her today..." Richard rolled his eyes. "Abeg hurry up you're late for church. You think say you be woman?" He smiled, finally gave up fumbling with his tie and turned to his friend. "See, forget that one it's not the issue now.  I just heard the pastor wants to wed us with another couple at the same time..." Richard snatched the tie from his friend and helped him tidy it up.  "If he likes he should wed you guys with hundred other couples. Wetin matter be say Las Las una go still marry." He finished the tie and tapped him on his shoulder. "All set man, let's get your sorry ass married." Victor gave him a feigned hurt look, and then they both laughed heartily...

Valerie stared at her reflection in the mirror and felt highly elated. Wow! She still found it hard to believe that she was going to be a married woman after today. How time flies. Well, she shrugged adjusting her gown. She loved Jerry and she didn't mind giving him forever.
She left the room quietly and quickly to make sure everything was in order before heading to the church with her entourage. She smiled as she remembered two days ago when Jerry tried sneaking in to see her. Unfortunately, he was caught by her mum. Though he tried convincing mummy that he had something very important to tell her, he was still turned away because she didn't believe him. She felt it was just a ploy of his to cuddle a little with his bride before the wedding. She still smiled absently, so much that she almost lost her footing. Was it normal to miss and have this great urge to speak to someone she just spoke to yesterday evening? Oh well, she shrugged again, that possibly was exactly what love entailed.

The church was filled to the brim with people that had gathered to witness the joining in matrimony of the couples. Surprisingly, one very handsome groom had been standing for hours, waiting for his bride. Ladies had been ogling him and in fact, cursing the foolish lady that kept him waiting. A lady even suggested replacing his bride, while everyone laughed it off. At another angle, a  very beautiful, curvy and hot looking bride had been waiting for her groom. Guys couldn't just imagine the jerk that would make such Jewel wait for him at the altar. The crowd had began to mumble, grumble, and gossip after waiting for thirty extra minutes. There was still no sign of the missing people and everyone was growing really impatient. Not long after, the congregation began to disperse when a middle aged lady muttered to Valerie's hearing; "I'm not surprised. In fact, I would have been amazed if she had gotten married." Out of anger, Valerie walked up to the stranger who was obviously in the same dilemma as she and whispered. "Replace my groom please." Immediately she said it she regretted it majorly because of the look he had on his face. She was about taking it back when he whispered back; "Replace my bride." Surprised, she stared at him. Just as she was about forming a response, he walked up to the officiating priest and  whispered something in his ear, probably asking to be wedded to her. The priest was amazed and whispered something furiously  to him. She looked around. The church had become quite scanty and disappointingly, most of her friends and family, even her mom were not in the church. She smiled satisfactorily however, as she saw the woman that made the derogatory statement still seated. The priest refused at first, saying the decision was taken in a haze of anger and dissapointment. After much Ado, he finally gave in especially when they both insisted.
After their church ceremony (which only a few people stayed to witness), they both cancelled their reception and decided to take a break, heading to their separate supposed honeymoon venues. Victor took a flight to Paris while Valerie headed to Dubai.

Linda couldn't believe her ears; "This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life. You did not just wed him in church, you also wedded him in court. A man you know nothing about. Are you crazy? Do you even know his name, or why his bride ran out on him in the first place...?" " Stop it! His name is Victor and, have you stopped to consider the fact that he might have actually been dumped just the way i was? For the records she is not his wife, I am". "Really...?! If you guys are really a couple why aren't you together? Why is he in Paris and you in Dubai? Abi in marriage law couples are not meant to spend the night together? Abi una no get honey moon?" "It's really non of your business because..."
"Abeg stop all this jirating, we both know U'll regret it if you don't already. Better do something before it's too late, I'm just telling you as a concerned friend." Valerie ended the call feeling so frustrated. Why the hell would Jerry do this to her? But they loved each other so much, what went wrong? How the hell did she not see this coming? Sincerely Linda said the truth. She regretted marrying Victor and she really never wanted to see him again. Hell, she never wanted to have anything to do with any other man. Love was really bloody shitty.
